Clare’s senior footballers have missed out on the Division 4 League Football title by the narrowest of margins after losing by a single point to Tipperary in Croke Park.

The Premier County’s Ciaran Russell scored 1-8 as his side ran out 1-16 to 1-15 winners in an enjoyable tie.

For both teams, the start of season objective of getting promoted to Division 3 was already achieved but both went into today’s game relishing the opportunity to both play in Croke Park and also bring home some silverware.

Clare’s top scorer on the day was David Tubridy who kicked over 7 points, 4 of which came from frees. Clare’s single goal came from Martin O’Leary.

In hurling’s Division 1, Sixmilebridge and Newmarket on Fergus played out a 0-14 to 1-11 draw.

Scarriff overcame Ballyea by 2-15 to 0-11 in their Junior A hurling tie.

In camogie, Scariff Ogonnelloe had a 3-4 to 2-3 win over Tulla Bodyke in the Under 14 Féile. Early this morning, Scariff Ogonnelloe beat Broadford on a scoreline of 2-0 to 1-02.
