The top temperature in Ireland during spring and so far this year was recorded in County Clare, according to Met Eireann in its latest weather summary.
This year’s highest temperature of 22.3°C was recorded at Shannon Airport on May 28th. At 10.2°C, Clare also recorded one of the highest seasonal mean temperatures. This was 0.5c above normal.
Seasonal rainfall totals were near or above average in the majority of places, with a few stations in coastal counties reporting below average seasonal values. Rainfall amounts at Shannon were 7% above normal.
