Cyclist killed in Limerick City

gardaiA cyclist has been killed in a traffic collision in Limerick City.

The collision involving an articulated truck and a cyclist happened at the junction of Rutland Street, Fr. Matthew Bridge and Charlotte’s Quay at 7.30 am.

The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has been removed to the Mid Western Regional Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place.

The roadway in the area, which is close to The Hunt Museum, is closed and diversions are in place.
