Killaloe to host the 2nd Waterways Ireland Water Festival

Killaloe will host the 2nd Waterways Ireland Water Festival on 5th-6th September 2014, organisers have announced.

In partnership with Waterways Ireland the Killaloe Water Festival promotes water sports in the mid-west region.

Anthony Foley, Manager of Munster Rugby and resident of Killaloe helped launch the Festival.

“It’s about having fun on and off the water” he says, “Come and join us in Killaloe and Ballina, for a carnival atmosphere, jam packed with fun events for all the family, from night swims in the canal, rowing, dinghy regatta, jet skis, outdoor BBQ, live bands and an outdoor cinema, there’s nothing quite like it for a family fun day out”

Want to see to see professional rowers,racers and sailors? There are participants coming from Castleconnell, Coláiste na Coiribe, Shannon and UL rowing/boat clubs all who will be competing in a fun 500m sprint course. The Irish Sailing Association (ISA) have sent twelve Topaz Unos down for a fun regatta a sight that must be seen. Land lovers worry not, there is also an outdoor cinema, family BBQ’s, live bands and many many more attractions.
