Limerick star John Galvin transfers to Cratloe

johngalvinOne of Limerick’s best known inter-county footballers has transferred to Clare club Cratloe.

Galvin joins the reigning Clare club champions from his native Croom, who were relegated to the junior ranks in 2013.

According to both The Limerick Leader and The Clare People newspapers, Galvin has not played in the Limerick Championship this year and will be free to play in the remainder of Cratloe’s 2014 Championship campaign.

The news has been confirmed by the Limerick County Board.

Galvin was captain of the Limerick team that won the Munster Under-21 Football Championship in 2000. He played in 4 Munster Senior Football Championship finals but lost all 4 to Kerry in 2003, 2004 and 2010 and to Cork in 2009. He has bean an all star nominees 3 times 2004,2009,2010.
