DavidPowerTo celebrate Clare Culture Night this Friday, the Office of Public Works will host an uilleann piping recital by the renowned piper, David Power, at Ennis Friary (the Old Abbey) in Abbey Street.

Power is one of the most highly acclaimed performers on the pipes and has previously played with a host of other traditional music stars including Iarla Ó’Lionard, Steve Cooney and Martin Hayes. He also performed with Ireland’s Nobel prize winning poet, the late Seamus Heaney and has toured the world playing concerts in prestigious venues including the Sydney Opera House.

His performance at Ennis Friary will begin at 7pm this Friday, the 19th September. Doors open at 6.30 pm and admission is free of charge.
