Astronaut snaps Loop Head from space

Loop HeadUS astronaut Reid Wiseman took one last remarkable image of earth from space before returning home from the International Space Station (ISS) this month.

Wiseman, tweeted, a stunning image of the Loop Head Peninsula in Co. Clare on November 4, 2014.

In the past, Irish Twitter followers warmed to former ISS resident Cdr. Chris Hadfield who tweeted a series of images of Ireland from space.

Wiseman and two other astronauts successfully landed in Kazakhstan at 10:58 p.m. on Sunday.

A Soyuz capsule carrying three replacement astronauts from Russia, the United States and Italy docked Monday with the International Space Station, less than six hours after launching from Russia’s manned space facility in Kazakhstan.
