Changes At The Top In Kilmaley GAA

The 2014 AGM of Kilmaley GAA club took place on Sunday last in the local clubhouse before a very large attendance.  Changes amongst the executive saw Vincent Wall assuming the role of Chairman with Vincent Hennessy elected Secretary.

In reviewing the activities of the past year, pride of place was afforded to the U15D, U16A, Minor A and C county championship winning teams. Congratulations was also extended to Aidan McGuane, Conor Cleary and Eoin Enright on the part that they played in Clare’s historic third U21 All-Ireland in a row.

An extensive report on the new field development was provided by committee chairman Tom McNamara who outlined that the second playing field had just been laid, while also informing the meeting that the first pitch should come into use in 2015. While thanking the generosity of all those inside and outside the parish in contributing financially to the new development, he also made a final appeal to all club members to make a final push in selling the remaining field development draw tickets ahead of the December 6th deadline.

It was decided at the meeting that the Senior and Junior A management teams would be determined by an elected committee, as has been the case for the last number of years. The Senior team was managed by PJ Kennedy in 2014 while Gerry McIntyre served as trainer to the side.
