Temperatures are struggling to reach above 3 or 4 degrees Celsius in County Clare today with thick fog hampering driving conditions.
Forecasters issued an Orange Weather Warning last evening in relation to mist and fog patches leading to poor driving conditions, particularly in western and midland counties.
At 1pm, Shannon Airport recorded a temperature of just 3c with fog reported. Flights have been landing on schedule however.
Elsewhere, fog remains thick on the N18 and M18 particularly between Setright’s Cross and Ennis.
Winds are expected to pick up overnight bringing rain to coastal parts of the west of Ireland. Much of Friday will see heavy rainfall across the county before a clearance to scattered showers this weekend.
