MARTYMullagh’s Marty Morrissey has been named as The Clare Person of the Year for 2015 for his services to sport.

The award, which is made annually by the Clare Association Dublin, will be presented to Marty on January 31st, 2015.

Speaking to www.rte.ie, Marty said: “The only thing I’ve ever won in my life before this was an Under 14s Champion Medal so The Clare Person of The Year award will be treasured. I am chuffed and honoured and this came out of the blue and it is really special.”

Ann Norton of The Clare Crusaders was named Clare Person of The Year in 2013.

Marty’s RTE Radio One commentary of Domhnall O’Donovan’s equalising point against Cork in last year’s All Ireland Hurling Semi-Final is one of his finest moments in the commentary box.
