EBCF announce Perry as new artistic director

Poet and author Paul Perry has been announced as the artistic director for the 2017 Ennis Book Club Festival.

Author of five critically acclaimed collections of poetry, the Dubliner is also the co-author of three best-selling psychological thrillers. He has scooped the Hennessy New Irish Writer of the Year Award and the Listowel Prize for Poetry.

Paul has previously acted as Artistic Director for Aspects Literature Festival, and is a former Curator for the Poetry Now International Poetry Festival in Dún Laoghaire. An avid reader, and published poet and novelist, he is thrilled to take on the role, and hopes to bring his experience and enthusiasm in contributing to the growth and development of the festival.

He has been a James Michener Fellow of Creative Writing at The University of Miami, and a Cambor Fellow of Poetry at The University of Houston. His work has appeared in numerous publications, including Poetry Ireland Review, Cyphers, TLS, Granta and The Best American Poetry 2000.

Ennis Book Club Festival is the country’s only dedicated book festival and it takes place from March 3rd – 5th 2017.
