High pressure centred to the north of Ireland during the remainder of this week and the early days of next week is set to bring a period of dry and warm weather to County Clare.

Met Éireann says temperatures will peak at 17 or 18c from Friday through the weekend with the midwest of the country faring best.

“An area of high pressure, with its centre over Scotland, will persist through the coming week,” stated Met Éireann.

“This will result in a light or moderate easterly breeze over Ireland. With sea surface temperatures in the Irish seat at just 8 degrees, the cool easterly breeze will keep temperatures all along the east coast slightly down on the average for the time of year with afternoon temperatures at between 10 and 12 degrees, heading west temperatures will rise to afternoon highs of up to 17 degrees depending on sunshine,” it added.
