A public meeting on the proposed new crematorium for Shannon will be held tomorrow night (Thursday).

Shannon Sinn Féin’s, Clare County Councillor Mike McKee, has called the meeting to give local people, groups and organisations an opportunity to express their views, on the proposed crematorium.

The Public Meeting takes place in the Oakwood Arms Hotel, Shannon, this Thursday 30th April, at 7.30pm.

Cllr Mike McKee, who lives close the proposed site said he is ” hosting the meeting to hear the opinions of Shannon people and for local residents to get the full information on the crematorium proposal.”

“Shannon Senator Tony Mulcahy, has agreed to chair the meeting at my invitation, as he has no statutory involvement in the decision making process and therefore neutral,” added Cllr. McKee

  1. Perfect spot for a crematorium. Certainly is backed by the majority. But as usual we’ll have the few dozen whom are against cremation turn up to muddy the water. And we’ll have the folks who live a kilometer away whom moved to the area a few years ago and now don’t want any further development.

We can assume that the 10,000 locals that don’t show up at meeting, are in agreement with the need for said facility and proceed with same.

I wouldn’t bother wasting your money running in the next National Election Cllr Flynn. you’ve found your level.
