Following the warmest period of the year to date, Ireland is set to see a return of wintry conditions later this coming weekend and into the early days of next week.
Rain overnight Thursday and Friday will give way to scattered showers and much cooler conditions this weekend compared to the 18-19c and clear skies of the past few days.
By Monday, Met Éireann says there will be scattered heavy hail and sleet showers, with snow possible on higher ground as temperatures struggle to climb above 7 or 8c.
Sunday and Monday night will also see sharp frosts form across County Clare.
