East Clare groups visit Áras Contae an Chláir

Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council, Cllr. John Crowe today welcomed two groups from the Sixmilebridge and Kilmurry area to Áras Contae an Chláir.

The children of Kilmurry National School, Sixmilebridge and members of the Sixmilebridge ICA Guild paid courtesy visited the Council headquarters building in Ennis where they were provided with a tour of the facility and introduced to some of the Council’s 28 Elected Members.

The Cathaoirleach said: “As a Sixmilebridge native I am always happy to welcome members of the local community to Áras Contae an Chláir to learn a little more about how the local Government system works and to see at first hand where the Council conducts its business”

“The schoolchildren were very keen to see the Council Chamber where the Elected Members and the Council Executive meet to discuss issues of importance to customers throughout the County. I was also delighted to welcome members of Sixmilebridge ICA to the Council which provided me with the opportunity to congratulate them on their important community work, including their fundraising efforts on behalf of charities throughout Clare,” Councillor Crowe added.
