Clare County Council today announced that Drehidnagower Bridge in Ennis will be closed to vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists until the ongoing bridge rehabilitation works are completed.

The Local Authority says the work should be completed in 10 weeks subject to river levels.

The bridge, which crosses the River Fergus, dates back to the early 19th century and has been the subject of a 30km/hr for a number of months.

  1. Who does your reporting ? its been closed already for MONTHS and there was never a speed limit sign there in a million years stating 30kph. Nonsense. Also it was due to be finished already but only now have they even looked at it.
