The forecaster says high pressure will build across the region from Scandinavia between June 5th and 8th bringing a significant rise in temperatures and sunny weather, particular for Ireland and the western half of Britain.

June temperatures could finish up to 3c above average for the time of year in western districts.

Meanwhile, the drier conditions of recent days across Clare will come to an end tomorrow as a band of rain pushes across the country from the west. This will be followed by scattered showers on Thursday and Friday with more widespread rain again at the weekend and into the early days of next week.

Met Éireann says temperatures “will probably improve to some extent going into the middle of next week, at least in the south and east, but changeable conditions seem set to persist.”
