Clare actress Aoibhín Garrihy is destined for a walk down the aisle after accepting a marriage proposal from successful local businessman John Burke.
Best known for her role as Neasa Dillon on RTÉ soap ‘Fair City, Ms Garrihy announced the news via her Twitter account tweeting ‘How could I say no to that face?!”The proposal was made in close proximity to the Cliffs of Moher while John got some assistance from the pair’s pet hooch as he popped the question.

Speaking in September of last year, Aoibhín stated that the couple were “headed for marriage”. She added “I’d like to think we are heading that way in time, but at the moment we’re both really happy and really busy.” The Trinity College graduate felt the only issue would be when the question was asked “I guess it’s all about timing.” Judging by the response, it appears John was spot on with his timing.
A daughter of Eugene Garrihy, the owner of Doolin2Aran Ferries and Dublin Bay Cruises, Aoibhín is enjoying a blossoming acting career that saw her act alongside Hollywood star Jamie Dornan in the BBC drama ‘The Fall’ since her departure from ‘Fair City’ over a year ago.
