A video of the Clare hurling team and management raising money for charity by undertaking a Crossbar Challenge has become an internet sensation.

The viral video was uploaded to YouTube yesterday morning and has since racked up more than 45,000 views.

Local and national media outlets from Clare FM to The Irish Examiner and Joe.ie have all shared the video, while it has also trended on Twitter and at the same time filled up timelines on Facebook.

The Clare Senior Hurlers this week became first inter-county side to take on the Charity Crossbar Challenge with all monies raised going to the Irish Heart Foundation and Cahercalla Hospice.

Clare manager Davy Fitzgerald nominated the Waterford Senior Hurlers to take on the Challenge next with reports that Deise boss Derek McGrath has accepted the Challenge.

It is hoped that all funds raised by future participating teams will be split evenly between the Irish Heart Foundation and the teams’ choice of local charity.

The video was recorded during a training session at Cusack Park, Ennis, on June 16th, 2015.
