Fanore jockey, Ian Queally has been nominated for the At The Races May Ride of the Month.

Queally is nominated for his impressive showing whilst riding ‘King of Oriel’ at the Fairyhouse on May 28th. Speaking after the race, trainer Donal Kinsella, was full of praise for the Clare teenager who made a great comeback on ‘King of Oriel’.

“I must admit I thought he was beaten but I thought he got a lovely ride – Ian did exactly what we asked. the horse didn’t do anything wonderful and credit must got to the jockey. We asked him to drop out and not show him until three furlongs out. He didn’t really make any decent ground until the last furlong”.

Adam Kirby, Ross Coakley, Chris Meehan and Sam Twiston-Davies are the other jockeys in contention. The winner will be determined by the public and voters are also in with a chance of winning a £250 funded account courtesy of Paddy Power. The deadline for votes is June 14th.
