Met Éireann has a Yellow Alert in place for strong winds in Clare. This evening will see southerly winds reaching mean speeds of 54 to 65 km/hr and gusting to speeds of 90 to 109 km/hr. Winds will be strongest in coastal parts.
A clearance will follow from the west this evening but more rain is forecast to push north across Ireland overnight, clearing on Tuesday afternoon.
Our weather is expected to improve considerably for the rest of the week, with the exception of some light rain or drizzle on Thursday. Temperatures will climb back up to or above seasonal values while there will be sunny spells interspersed with scattered showers.
