St Breckans 2-15
St Josephs Doora/Barefield 2-13
It is the first time St Breckans will contest the Clare Senior Football Championships since winning promotion from the Intermediate ranks in 2010.
First-half goals from Liam Tierney and Doora/Barefield’s Eoin Hanrahan had the sides deadlocked at 1-06 apiece as the half-time whistle sounded.
Colm Clancy’s Parish men pushed into an early six point lead at the beginning of the second half with Clare senior Alan O’Neill raising a green flag.
The men from Lisdoonvarna and Doolin kept belief and a fantastic late goal from Dale Masterson put them one point ahead. Conor Cormican secured the win with a point at the death to send the Neil Hawes trained outfit into the quarter-finals while St Josephs will now prepare for the Senior B competition having failed to make the quarter-finals since 2012 a year in which they contested the County Final.
