Shannon Jets 35Shannon Jets’ Basketball Club held their Kids Summer Camp on Sunday 9 August at Shannon Swimming & Leisure Centre.

It was a day to remember for the children with the message of “fun in sport” ringing through.  Children aged 7-14 from the Shannon area had the opportunity to learn new skills, make new friends and, for some, try a new sport in a safe and friendly environment. Included in the admission fee was a healthy lunch from club sponsor Subway.

The day culminated with the kids getting the chance challenge the older heads in the Campers v Coaches match – a regular event at Shannon Jets camps.

The Jets hold regular camps throughout the year, this was the fourth such camp in the past twelve months, and participation has been rising each time.  This one-day camp was the largest yet with 55 attendees.

Training for club’s underage teams will start in September, while the senior men’s team starts in August.  New members are always welcome with more information available from their Facebook page.
