Following global media coverage of the recent referendum on same sex marriage, a top-level international media group, including The Guardian, BuzzFeed UK and the Huffington Post, arrived in Ireland last weekend to document the Irish LGBT tourism experience.

The group of travelling media, hosted by Fáilte Ireland, boast an impressive combined online readership of over 77m a month, a TV viewership of up to 40m US households, and a print circulation of over 225,000.

As part of a bespoke itinerary designed by Fáilte Ireland, the group met some influential figures in Ireland’s Gay and Lesbian (LGBT) community, experience Dublin, attended ‘The Outing Lisdoonvarna’ – the world’s first and only LGBT matchmaking & music festival, and took in some of the west coast’s most iconic experiences.

The group then jumped on the rainbow and headed to Lisdoonvarna to enjoy the world’s only Gay and Lesbian (LGBT) matchmaking festival ‘The Outing’ – an offshoot of the hugely popular 159 year matchmaking festival which featureed pop-up clubs, drag performances, comedy, live music and The GAZE Film Festival.

While along the west coast, the group will also took in the Wild Atlantic Way and took in a private tour of the Doolin Caves and visited the iconic Cliffs of Moher where they enjoyed local produce with a ‘Burren Food Trail’ picnic basket.
