Westerly winds will reach mean speeds of 45 km to 55km/hr and gust 80 to 100km/hr during Saturday and Sunday.
Scattered outbreaks will also occur during each day while the unsettled weather is forecast to continue into the early days.
Met Éireann’s Yellow Alert will remain in place until Sunday evening. A rain alert is also in place with rainfall accumulations of 25-50 mm likely over the weekend.
Meanwhile, the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre has closed due to escalating high winds which “make it unsafe for anyone to remain onsite”. Wind speed in excess of 150kph have been recorded onsite.
“Wind speeds and gusts at the Cliffs of Moher are hazardous and we appeal to visitors not to visit the Cliffs at this time as the visitor centre will remain closed. We will provide updates on social media over the weekend,” a statement outlined.
