harriersMeningitis Research Foundation and East Clare Harriers are joining forces once again this year to organise their seventh Annual Christmas 10K Walk/Run on Monday 28th of December in Tuamgraney.

Entrants will gather outside Nualas with the walk taking them through the beautiful Clare countryside from Tuamgraney to Bodyke road, onto Caherhurley and back towards Tuamgraney.

David Jones, event co-organiser and Chairman of East Clare Harriers, chose Meningitis Research Foundation as the beneficiary charity because of his family’s personal experience with meningitis.

“My nephew Jack contracted meningitis when he was just 8 months old. Meningitis Research Foundation was a big help and support to my family at the time; it was great to have them at the end of the phone,” he said.

The walk/run is open to people of all ages and all fitness levels and new this year is a Children’s Fun Trail so get the whole family involved.

The event starts at 1pm with registration at 12.30pm. Entry costs just €10 per person completing the 10K walk/run, €5 per person completing the Children’s walk and €10 for 2 or more children.
