Clare students are worried about their future careers with many expecting to have to leave the County in order to find work once they qualify.

A recent survey completed by StudyClix which has over 2,000 young respondents from the County highlights a deep concern from second level students in relation to securing employment.

Financial pressures, future job security and housing are high on the list of students’ minds with 51% believing it unlikely they will end up working in their home county after college. A further 52% of students believe it is unlikely they will be able to buy a home in their own county after they begin working.

88% of students nationally believe it is a possibility that they will emigrate at some point in their lives.

Studyclix.ie is Ireland’s largest study website, used by 57,031 registered secondary school student users and 23,000 registered secondary school teacher users. It’s second annual Student Attitudes Index explored a range of national topics and day to day issues experienced by secondary school students.
