Council announces waste prevention scheme

Clare County Council is inviting applications from voluntary and community groups for grant aid for the provision of workshops on repair, reuse and upcycling.

Under the scheme, which forms part of the Waste Prevention Programme for the County, grants to a maximum of €500 are being made available to voluntary community groups for waste prevention projects in their local area.

The Council says the purpose of the scheme is to support communities to take steps on waste prevention, re-use and repair activities in their local areas, and encourage partnership between local businesses, local schools, charities and voluntary groups.

Applications must be made to Clare Co. Council, Environment Section, no later than 5pm on 1st July, 2016.
