Clare GAA are remaining hopeful that Senior Hurling manager, Davy Fitzgerald will be patrolling the sideline this Sunday.
Fitzgerald was admitted to hospital in Dublin on Wednesday having initially visited Galway Clinic for tests. In 2009, the Sixmilebridge man underwent minor heart surgery while he was manager of the Waterford Senior Hurlers.
Speaking on Clare FM, Joe Cooney, Chairperson of Clare GAA was optimistic Davy would be in Semple Stadium on Sunday for their All-Ireland quarter-final clash with Galway.
“We’re hoping keeping our fingers crossed that Davy will be on the line on Sunday, we all want a big team performance on Sunday, we have a very good backroom team there with Davy and I can guarantee you that the team will be well up for the performance on Sunday no matter whether Davy’s on the line or not” he said.
Cooney added “We will be hoping that he will be back but again his health is a serious issue aswell and that also has to be given consideration”.
