Book of condolences opens for tragic coast guard

Clare County Council has opened a book of condolences for the late Caitríona Lucas.

A staff member of the local authority, Caitríona worked in the Ennistymon, Corofin and Lisdoonvarna branches of the Clare County Library for the past fifteen years. A volunteer with the Irish Coast Guard, she died tragically in Kilkee on Monday.

Áras Contae an Chláir opened the book of condolences on Tuesday afternoon, the book can be signed on Wednesday from 10am at the Ennistymon library.

Helen Walsh, County Librarian expressed her sadness at Caitríona’s passing. “This is a particularly difficult time for the Library service who recently lost another colleague.”

Her reposal takes place in Liscannor church at 5pm on Wednesday with prayers afterwards at 8pm. The funeral mass takes place on Thursday at 11am with Burial afterwards in Kilmacreehy Cemetery.
