2016 batch of Dainty Daisies all set for the stage

dainty-daisies-heelsRape Crisis Midwest is holding its 5th annual Dainty Daisy event in Ennis on Saturday November 5thIn Treacy’s West County Hotel.

Dainty Daisies is a lovely girls competition for the boys and is the main fundraiser for the Midwest Rape Crisis in Co Clare, with funding essential for keeping the centre open. The Rape Crisis Centre is based in Tracklands Business Park in Ennis and is run by Counsellor Ann Guinnane, it opened in 2011.

It provides counselling and support to men and women who have survived rape or sexual abuse in adulthood or as a child. The centre receives no direct Government funding to service the overheads, rent or related administration costs.

Thirteen men are participating in the Dainty Daisies competition, they include Clare FM’ s Gavin Grace, construction worker Damian Hill, Brendan McCullough from Dysart, Cummins’ car sales executive Damian Pilkington, service engineer Martin Vernon, Polish native Marcin Piotrwski, Jason Carmody, Donncha Ó Luasa, Kilnamona’s Kevin Keane, LIT student Victor Flynn, Tesco employee John Frawley, Garda Niall Donegan and Ballyneety Golf Club bar and restaurant manager Brian McMahon.

Tickets are priced at €10 for the nigt of entertainment. They can be purchased from participants, Treacy’s West County Hotel as well as on the rape crisis website info@rapecrisis.ie.
