Jimmy Browne and Kieran Corcoran have joined the management of the Clare senior hurling team.

Browne worked alongside Joint Managers Donal Moloney and Gerry O’Connor when they worked with the historic Clare U21 team that claimed three All-Ireland titles in succession. This year the LIT Vice President was part of the Clonlara management that saw their side lose out in the Clare SHC final to Ballyea while he was in charge of the Monaleen side that were crowned Limerick Intermediate Hurling champions.

Broadford man Kieran Corcoran was also ratified as a new member of the management at Wednesday’s County Board meeting. Kieran lined out for the Banner County at intermediate level. He was also part of Donal Moloney’s management team with the Clare U21 and intermediate sides for the past two seasons.

They join the trio of Donal Óg Cusack, Liam Cronin and Kelvin Harold.

Sean Doyle’s management team for the Clare minor hurlers were ratified at the County Board meeting. Former County manager and All-Ireland medallist Cyril Lyons plus Gerry McIntyre will assist the Bodyke man.

Elsewhere management teams for the minor and U21 footballers previously announced by The Clare Herald have been appointed. Mick Bohan’s successor Alan Flynn was ratified as coach to the Clare senior footballers while Colm Collins will once more be joined by David O’Brien on his management team along with Declan Downes and Eoin Shanahan.

Clare GAA is hopeful of appointing an U21 hurling manager within the next month. Both John Carmody and John O’Meara are nominated for the vacant position. Carmody is the current manager of the Crusheen hurlers and they play Clonlara in the Clare Cup final on Saturday and he is to step down from the role after the game, he is being linked with a return to the Kilmaley hotseat. O’Meara is expected to continue as manager of the Sixmilebridge hurlers.
