A statement released by the political group to The Clare Herald paid tribute to the late first secretary of the Cuba Communist Party.

“It is important that we sympathise with the people of Cuba. They have lost a Revolutionary Leader and the World has lost a Extraordinary Socialist who Stood Firm Internationally against the evils of Capitalism and its henchmen. There is always critics but ask yourself what is the difference between Haiti and Cuba? – Fidel Castro RIP.

“It is vital that we study, improve and embrace Left Alternatives as the hard Right is on the rise across the globe. Sinn Féin continue to look at alternatives but the Centre Right are not for Change and their cheap attacks on President Michael D Higgins are nothing short of ignorant opportunism”.
