The Irish Coast Guard marine rescue sub centre at Valentia was alerted and a rescue operation quickly mounted.

The ambulance service and Gardaí were notified while Kilkee Coast Guard prepared to launch their rescue boat. As volunteers were about to mobilise to the scene the jet skiers managed to make it ashore with the help of friends and members of a local dive club.

Coast Guard volunteers met with the pair and checked to ensure they had not been injured.

Once satisfied that the two males were unharmed, the rescue operation was stood down.
