Gardaí recover drugs during search – Man arrested

Gardaí arrested a man and seized a quantity of drugs during an intelligence-led operation in Co Clare yesterday.

An estimated €10,000 worth of cannabis and cocaine were recovered during a search in Cree near Kilrush.

An man in his 20’s was arrested at the scene and taken to Ennis garda station for questioning.

The discovery was made by members of the Clare Divisional Drugs Unit supported by local detectives and uniformed members.

The man has since been released without charge pending completion of an analysis of the substances recovered.

It’s understood that an estimated €6,000 worth of cannabis and cocaine valued at €4,000 was recovered.

A file on the matter will also be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
