The committee of the Clare Peace Park Initiative will hold a dedication service of a new memorial erected in remembrance of more than 600 Clare people who died in several war zones in battles on land, at sea and in the air during World War One.
Irish men and women who served in the Allied Military Service during the South East Asian Wars from 1959 – 1975 were honoured at a serviced dedicated to them in Ennis on Friday morning that saw a peace park unveiled.
A meeting will take place in Ennis later this month where a proposal to erect a plaque to an Ennis man died during the Spanish Civil War will be discussed.
Ireland’s rich musical heritage will be showcased at Clare Museum in Ennis during Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann with an exhibition of ancient musical instruments and musician’s clothing spanning more than 3000 years.
