A man had a lucky escape early today after a fire destroyed a considerable portion of his home.

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow wind warning for most of the west coast including Co Clare.

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured and a child taken to hospital as a precaution following a road traffic collision in Co Clare this evening.

The RNLI and Irish Coast Guard are appealing to the public to exercise caution when participating in any activity on and near the water during the Christmas and New Year period and at all times to be mindful of the  restrictions in place to deal with the COVID pandemic.

This winter, more than any other, we are encouraging the public to make an individual Winter Plan, particularly with the impact of Covid-19, and to know how and where to access care when it is needed.
