An Irish Coast Guard helicopter winchman/paramedic has been honoured with a prestigious award in London for his role in rescuing two Italian brothers in a daring operation off the coast of the largest of the Aran Islands in 2019.
Whilst out on exercise last evening, the Lough Derg RNLI lifeboat tasked and was requested to assist two people on a 12ft fishing boat that had suffered engine failure.
The Lough Derg RNLI lifeboat was launched yesterday to assist 3 people on board a 36ft motor cruiser that had run aground north of the entrance to the Scarriff River in East Clare.
