The Kilrush RNLI lifeboat and Shannon-based Irish Coast Guard helicopter have been involved in a major search and rescue operation off the Kerry coast this evening.
Ahead of the August Bank Holiday weekend, the Irish Coast Guard, RNLI and Water Safety Ireland are appealing for people to take care when they are on or near the water.
