Two people who lost their way in a popular wooded area in Co Clare last night have been found safe and well.

Clare County Council has confirmed that its Crisis Management Team is continually monitoring the situation with regard to rising water levels at Springfield, Clonlara.

A woman is in a critical condition in hospital this evening after being rescued from a river in Co Clare.

Clare County Council today signed contracts with Jada Kelly RAC Joint Venture for the delivery of a €2.7 million upgrade and refurbishment of a building in the Quin Road Industrial Estate in Ennis, which will become the new location for the Clare Civil Defence Headquarters. 

A multi-agency search for a young woman reported missing in East Clare has been stood down after she was found safe and well this afternoon.
