Newmarket-on-Fergus GAA held a Victory Social on Saturday evening to honour their all-conquering Senior Camogie team that claimed a League and Championship double in 2015 whilst also contesting the club’s first ever Munster Senior Camogie Final.
The event took place in The Inn at Dromoland with leading magician and escape artist Steve Spade keeping the large crowd on alert with some magic while DJ Conor Mc had those in attendance on their feet till the early hours.
Dessie and Kate O’Halloran of the Tulla Pipe Band led the Senior panel into the fuction room at The Inn at Dromoland to rapturous applause from the vast Newmarket-on-Fergus supporters.
Chaiperson of the Camogie Club, Marie-Louise Kaiser was the first to speak on the night and welcomed everyone to the wonderful occasion.
The club’s Minor Camogie team were honoured on the night for winning the Minor A Shield. Manager Carol O’Leary praised her side for their hard work throughout the year. Brendan Mulcaire in acknowledgement for his service to the club had the privilege of presenting the medals to both sets of panels having announced he will be taking a step back this year.
Manager of the Senior Camogie team, Darren Hayes paid tribute to a fantastic bunch of girls for their achievements in 2015. President of the Newmarket-on-Fergus Camogie Club, Bridie O’Looney complemented them on their efforts and expressed her delight at seeing continued success.
Roisin McMahon, captain of the side made a presentation to each member of management as a token for their commitment and praised each one of them for their loyalty to the cause. Elaine Lally kept everyone entertained serving as a fantastic MC for the evening.
