An Ennis based Detective Inspector will take over as Superintendent in Kilrush following his recent promotion.
John Galvin will replace Supt Martin McGonnell who will take up a new post in Blackrock, Co Dublin. Supt McGonnell has been based in the west Clare town for the past two years.

The Clare Garda Division’s most senior detective John Galvin was previously stationed in Kilrush as a Sergeant and returns to Kilrush as Superintendent in charge of the combined district areas of Kilrush and Ennistymon.
Superintendent Galvin was also head of the Garda Traffic Corps in Clare before being promoted to Detective Inspector.
