Green Business Seminar ahead of Fleadh Cheoil

Ahead of Fleadh Cheoil ne hÉireann 2017 in Ennis, Clare County Council and EPA Green Business are organising a Green Business Seminar for all businesses in County Clare.

The Seminar, which will take place from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. on Wednesday 28 June at glór in Ennis, will explore ways businesses and companies can reduce and eliminate waste in their business including food waste, energy wastage and water use reduction through simple “no cost” and “low cost” means.

The event will feature a host of speakers including Pat Stephens of the Limerick Clare Energy Agency and James Hogan of EPA Green. There will be a strong focus on food waste at this year’s seminar with Sarah Broderick, Clean Technology Centre, and Annette Keenan, Keenans Hotel, Roscommon, presenting on practical ways to reduce food waste and cut costs.

Greg Davidson, Cliffs of Moher will also highlight the benefits of greening at the Cliffs of Moher visitor centre.  In addition to getting lots of tips and advice on how to reduce waste energy and water costs there will also be an opportunity to hear about the outcomes and successes for the greening of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016 and plans for 2017 from Karen Foley, Environmental Awareness Officer with Clare County Council.

Over 30 businesses signed up to the Green Fleadh business programme in 2016. Additional businesses will have the opportunity to sign up at the seminar to the Green Fleadh Business Programme and to make a commitment to promote good waste management, energy efficiency, water conservation and keeping their patch clean for Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann 2017.
