Coast Guard volunteers returned to the scene early this morning however there was no sign of the body.

Following further searches today, a report from a member of the public this afternoon alerted search teams to a possible sighting south of the main viewing platform.

A body was recovered at around 6.30pm and taken to the Doolin Coast Guard station before being removed to University Hospital Limerick where a postmortem examination is due to be carried out.
