Local festivals helping to bring tourists to Clare

Ennis Street Festival-6Festival and event organisers in County Clare can now apply for funding under Fáilte Ireland’s 2017 Regional Festivals and Participative Events Programme, which last year supported 205 events across the country to the value of over €690k.

Fáilte Ireland’s Regional Festivals and Participative Events Programme supports festivals and events which drive local tourism and help to improve the experience on the ground by bringing Ireland to life for the visitor. Applications opened this week (Monday 5th December) and will close at 12.00 noon on Monday 16th January.

A copy of the Programme Guidelines, which outline the purpose of the programme, the qualifying conditions, the minimum eligibility thresholds along with the evaluation criteria can be found here and applications must now be made online through Fáilte Ireland’s Trade Portal which can be accessed from www.failteireland.ie.

Speaking about the funding programme, Fáilte Ireland’s Head of Evaluation and Research, Caeman Wall explained: “Fáilte Ireland’s 2017 Regional Festivals & Participative Events Programme plays a big part in creating compelling experiences that will encourage our target audiences to choose Ireland in 2017 and come to visit us throughout the entire calendar year.

“Furthermore, these events play a role in generating local employment and community engagement. We are delighted to be opening the application process for next year and look forward to receiving applications from County Clare.”
