35-year-old Maria Hennigar, originally from Limerick, was reported missing on November 22nd but hadn’t been seen since earlier in the month.

Family and friends of the missing woman have been conducting searches in the Doolin area where Maria has been living for the past six months.

Gardaí have established that there has been no activity on Maria’s bank or credit union accounts for several weeks.

Search teams have also been looking for the bicycle and rucksack which gardaí believe could be key to finding Maria or least provide a starting point for a search.

Gardaí are now investigating a possible sighting of Ms Hennigar in Clonmel, Co Tipperary earlier this week.

Clare Civil Defence volunteers have been using drones to search lands and the coastline while the Shannon based search and rescue helicopter carried out sweeps of the lands around the missing woman’s home this afternoon.
