Emergency services including water search and rescue crews were placed on standby early this morning after a private jet made an emergency at Shannon Airport.
The volunteer crew of the Lough Derg RNLI lifeboat was called out this afternoon to assist two people on a yacht that that had ran aground on the lake.Â
A major multi-agency emergency operation, also involving an RNLI lifeboat, was put in place in Co Clare this morning for a cargo aircraft which declared a Mayday over the Atlantic.
The volunteer crew of the Lough Derg RNLI lifeboat was tasked this afternoon to investigate a report from a member of the public that a kayaker was in difficulty by Navigation Mark J, at the northern end of the lake.
