Irish Water and Clare County Council have confirmed that the swimming prohibition notice in Kilkee beach has been lifted following the completion of repair and upgrade work at the town’s wastewater pumping station.
A massive navigation buoy that drifted almost 4,000 kilometres across the Atlantic, has been safely recovered from the sea and is no longer a danger to shipping.
A maritime navigation buoy, which appears to have travelled thousands of kilometres across the Atlantic from Canada, has been discovered off the west coast of Co Clare.
It’s hoped that a bathing ban that forced the cancellation of a Christmas Swim in Co Clare last December will be lifted before the summer bathing season begins.
