Ireland’s rich musical heritage will be showcased at Clare Museum in Ennis during Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann with an exhibition of some Ireland’s oldest known musical instruments spanning more than 6000 years.
The cultural legacy and reputation of both Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and Ennis will be hugely enriched by the two-year magical shared experience that culminates this week, Shannon Group Deputy CEO Mary Considine has said.
Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann is the largest Irish Traditional Music Festival in the world, attracting hundreds of thousands of Irish music, song and dance enthusiasts from all over the globe.
Passengers at Shannon Airport were left in no doubt that the biggest traditional Irish music event of the year will get underway in Co Clare in just over a weeks time.
Over 600 pupils, from both primary and secondary schools, including Co Clare, gathered in the Pavilion at Leopardstown racecourse in Dublin to attend the presentation of An Ghaelbhratach.
