The Bishop Of Killaloe, Most Reverend Fintan Monahan, announced this morning on Clare FM’s Morning Focus that all masses within the diocese will be cancelled until March 29th in line with  Government and public health advice.

Shannon Group has taken the decision to suspend operations at all of its Shannon Heritage visitor attractions from 5.00pm this evening until Sunday 29th March.  

Following the recommendations of the Government and Public Health Authorities this morning, the Diocese of Killaloe wishes to put measures in place to help ensure the containment of the virus and the protection of the faithful who may be particularly vulnerable at this time.

Following the Government’s announcement yesterday in relation to measures to delay COVID-19, An Garda Síochána is putting in place a number of measures to maximise our operational availability and support other vital public services including:

UL Hospitals Group is extending until March 29th the visiting ban in place across all our hospital sites, in line with the Government decision to close all schools, colleges and childcare facilities.

Following the Government’s announcement of new measures to minimise the spread of COVID-19, Clare County Council has confirmed that local authority offices, cultural facilities, and sports and recreation buildings will be closed to the public from 6:00pm today (Thursday, 12 March 2020) until 29 March 2020.

Shannondoc, the out-of-hours GP service for the Mid-West region, has reassured the public that it is service as normal as the government’s Coronavirus intervention takes effect over the coming weeks but that all patients with COVID-19 concerns must refer to the HSE.

The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has confirmed that schools, colleges and childcare facilities will close until March 29th.
